Where We Came From

We started our first service running behind a cable modem line in a basement. It was pretty much all about just doing favors for organizations we belonged to and wished to support. Some of those applications become good enough for the organizations to pay for, and we finally outgrew our humble cable modem service (Thanks AW!) when we started getting more requests to build sites and help people get online with their applications. Who's next?
Experienced People
- Our professional software careers span almost 40 combined years
- We have over 19 years of Unix based systems administration. VAX 11/785 BSD 4.2 anyone? Multi-tasking used to be running Clock on the green-screen terminal next to you and control-z was your best friend for task management. It's safe to say we've seen and had to recover from many kinds of software bugs and hardware failures, experience has taught us how to avoid them in the first place.
- In the web services and online space, we have over 14 years of combined experience. Why yes, it's quite likely we can handling your application requirements too.
- We have an extensive professional background in digital imaging - capture, processing, transmission and storage
- For completeness, and if we're in the neighborhood, we have been known to make a house call and give you some hands-on assistance on how to get connected with our services, update your content, filter your email, add memory to your computer, solve that annoying Windows problem, fix your car and unclog your drains. Ok, we don't really like to fix the Windows problems.
Why Are We In This Business?
It all started so innocently enough. Hosting was expensive, and we had enough knowledge to do it ourselves - and older Sun equipment could be had inexpensively on eBay - why not? For years we ran a few special interest web sites, pretty much just the services that belonged to ourselves. That's the base reason we started our internet services company - to host our own special interests in an economical way with no imposed restrictions. As we are entrepreneurial in spirit, naturally we started doing web based favors for friends and relatives. Working with others to get their ideas online turned out so successfully, we obviously realized that we might have something here to offer commercially.
We got off the cable line, unloaded the lower end equipment, put some real money into infrastructure and moved into rented rack space at a real datacenter. We decided that we would offer personalized service, especially geared towards those people requiring an internet presence but with little idea how to manage it.
What Does The Future Hold?

It's all about keeping the mental gears turning. As we add more customers to our portfolio, our operations and expenses become more balanced. We might align ourselves more closely as a development partner with one of our customers and take a position with their business, or we might fully develop and market one of our own independent online service concepts. Remember: entrepreneurial spirit, multi-disciplined, we own our infrastructure and we're not afraid to customize it for you.
